Monument Valley Sunrise scarf
Monument Valley sits on the Utah-Arizona border, in the heart of Navajo Nation. This palette came from a guided sunrise tour of Monument Valley, bouncing in a jeep with a couple of French tourists and being awed by seeing The Three Sisters. Inspired by the deep indigo sky just before dawn and the sandstone buttes shifting from shadow-black to warm red as the light came up.
Woven in a reversing broken twill, two colors of baby alpaca -- a warm heathered boysenberry purple and a deep charcoal gray. The pattern moves between them, pulling warm and cool together the way the landscape does at daybreak. Finished with a lux 4" of fringe.
One of a kind. Hand wash cold, dry flat.
Each one of a kind textile ships with a small print of the landscape that inspired it. If this piece is sold out, a similar one can be made to order. Email touchgrasstextiles@gmail.com
